Blogging Pays U?

I was just out googling on terms like making money blogging and the blogosphere is literally filled with blogs that claim to tell you how to do that... but most of them are absolute garbage and if you read that crap and believe it then more fool you. Thats why I started this blog - to tell you the truth about making money blogging.

Again, the issue is how competitive it is in the blogging world. To make money you have to have traffic. It is THAT simple. But how do you build traffic? Well, google that term and you will find it comes down to just a few things really;

Post often,
Post quality,
Advertise and promote using social networks, advertising and comments on other folks websites.

But, I got news for you. Since this advice is pumped out daily on thousands of blogs, everyone is pursuing the same strategy. What is really required is something unique. Something different that stands out from the crowd. And that's the issue. In such a competitive space exactly what could be unique and compelling. Frankly, I don't know.

What I do know is that I focus on my blog Rant Here much of the time and have done for months and months and months. I have bought paid posts, I have used google ads, I have used article sharing sites, I have printed stickers and stuck them everywhere... I have done everything I can think of to promote that site. Yet, if I don't post daily my traffic dies quicker than I can say 'quick'.

I make money there using paid posts and a variety of ads. My ads make little to no cash until my traffic gets beyond around 60 visits per day and then I make reasonable money. But, if I go on a business trip or vacation and don't post..... traffic dies, revenue dies. And posting payperpost paid articles kills my PR ranking...

I'm not saying don't try. I continue to experiment and blog but... I'm not planning on giving up my day job anytime soon.
