Bidvertiser – A PPC Alternative?

Bidvertiser is a pay per click Internet advertising service that I have used with some success on some of my blogs. It works in a broadly similar way to Google Adsense and is quite easy to use. All you have to do is sign up for an account, submit some information on your blog, create your ad template and away you go.
Bidvertiser has some pros and cons though.

Pros
Bidvertiser will pay you when you reach $10 in your account (as opposed to the $100 limit that Google Adsense uses) and that means you get to see some cash sooner. Additionally, they will pay you directly into a paypal account as opposed to simply by check as in the case of Google. They also claim to place the highest bidders ads on your website so that you get higher PPC earnings from each click.

Their reporting is also very good and very flexible so that you can see by day by website how your ads are performing at any time. In general, its a good service and a good website.

They also offer an affiliate program where you can earn by obtaining advertisers or publishers for them.

Cons
The biggest drawback I think is flexibility in terms of formating their ads. Frankly, they could do a lot better in this department and I have experienced difficulties both selecting an ad format and then actually getting it to appear on my website in the selected format. Even after using their ads for some time now, I still have difficulties in that department. No where near as flexible as Google I'm afraid.

Perhaps a second area of concern is just how many advertisers they have. At first, I used Bidvertiser ads in columns with perhaps as many as 8 ad spots but I soon found that only two of the ad spots actually contained an ad - the others all advertised Bidvertiser.... My solution was to select a smaller ad format displaying just two ads and that seems to have cured that particular problem.

Summary
Bidvertiser is quite a good service and offers a good alternative or supplement to Google Adsense. However, do bear in mind some of the issues I have discovered and do read their terms and conditions - they too can terminate your account for cheating on clicks and so forth...
