Smorty - A Review

The two paid to blog services I use are Sponsored Reviews and Smorty.

Smorty is radically different to Sponsored Reviews. First, you don't see what advertisers are out there and bid on them. Smorty does that for you and simply places advertisers it has selected for you in your work area. That means you have to go and look there quite frequently to see what opportunities they have allocated to you and your blogs. Having said that, they will email you if a new opportunity arises. Additionally, at Smorty, as soon as you accept an assignment you have to complete it in 3-days before you can accept another.

A further difference is that Smorty seems to pay a little more than Sponsored Reviews. As I stated above, you don't bid and Smorty tells you how much they will pay you for an assignment. Smorty pays weekly by paypal too which is quite nice.

I do like Smorty's system. It's a clear and easy to use facility and I have had no issues whatsoever with the service. It did take a little more time to get the blogs approved and there is no indication on the site regarding why your blog is approved or not or how it is ranked - unlike Sponsored Reviews where that is clear.

In comparing both services, here are the pro's and con's:

Smorty - better payment rates, more frequent payments and clearer instructions but they state what they will pay for an opportunity.

Sponsored Reviews - appear to have more advertisers though you have to bid on opportunities, greater variety of advertisers and they show you how your blog is ranked and therefore how much you should bid.

In fact, both are pretty good services and both provide a way for smaller blogs and bloggers to make a little money from time-to-time.
